Going to the skate park

Going to the skate park On Tuesday my uncle came to pick me up and take me to my papa's house. I was so excited that I was jumping up and down. My uncle said hurry up. And I said I am just packing my bag. And when we got there no one was there. So we got all of our stuff out of the car and put them in the house. After we put all our stuff in the house we made our beds. Later on I was bored and then I looked at my bike. Then an idea came up and I rushed to my uncle and asked him if i could go to the skate park and he said yes so i got my bike ready to go to the skate park. First when we got there I saw my uncle going up the half pipe and after he went up the halfpipe he jumped in the middle of the ramp. After he jumped the ramp in the middle he gave me my bike back and I went to practice jumping the half pipe but i keeped on falling off my bike. But I keeped on trying. And then my uncle showed me how to jump the ramp. And I said ok I know how to jump it now. And after i said that my uncle passed me my bike and I went to have a turn. Finally I jumped the middle ramp. Later on my uncle said it is time to go get a feed at my papa’s he said we can come back after we had a feed we had spiggerry bollinaes. I had two plates because it was enjoyable and then I asked my uncle if I could go back to the skate park and he said yes so he said go and get your bike. He asked me if I wanted to ride to the skate park. And I said yes please he said to me to go and open the gate. When he got out of the gate he said to stay on the footpath. I said ok. On the way to the skate park I saw my uncle go past me. Finally I got there. It was a long ride. I asked my uncle if I could cross the road and he said run. When I got there I went to jump the half pipe. My nana rang my uncle up and said to him it was time to go back home. I felt happy because I got to go to the skate park twice. I had a fantastic day because I went to the skate park twice.

Matua Ray's visit

 Matua Ray’s Visit

On Monday Matua Ray came to talk to our class about how to keep our fresh waterways healthy.

First he set up the Whitebait Connection presentation.

Next Matua Ray talked about the clarity of the water.

He used a long tube full of freshwater and gave some of the kids a turn on the tube. I really wanted a turn. 

There was a black magnet and he pulled it down until the kids could not see the magnet.

Then he chose three children to do an experiment.  They were testing some containers to see if they were safe levels for our streams. They used coloured strips of paper to test what was in them.  I thought this was really interesting.  I can't wait to do another whitebait presentation.

 Going to my Uncles in Waima

On Saturday me and my Grandmama drove to my Uncle’s house to see my baby cousin. 

When we got there my Grandmama said to me to open the gate.

Next when we got to the house and we got the bags out of the truck.

Then we went to the house and the baby was asleep in the pram. 

I went to play on the swing. After that I made up a game. It was called hunting. I found a stick and started to build a hut out of sticks and leaves. Then I made a fire. After that I went to get my Uncle to see my hut. He said that the hut was cool. Then we drove home. I think I had 

a fantastic day seeing my baby cousin and my uncle.

Going to NgaWha

On Tuesday night I went to NgaWha with my brother and my uncle and my two cousins. So we went to one of the cold pools and then I went to the hot one. The hot one was called the Bulldog. It was so hot and then I saw Josiah. He came with his parents and his baby sister. I went with my cousin in the cold pool and then we went to the Doctor. It was so warm and then my cousin hopped out. Finally my uncle said that it is time to go so me and my cousin had a walking race and my cousin won. Then when we went into the boys changing room we first had a shower. Next we got changed and we walked out of the boys room. I saw my uncle coming to the boys room and he told me and my cousin to go to the truck. When we got to the truck we opened the door we got the books and a pen. I got the pen and a book first. Next my uncle and my other cousin and my brother came to the truck and hopped in the truck. Finally we went home and watched tv. I had a fantastic day. I felt happy and I think they were too.

The water cycle is a path that all water follows as it moves around the earth in different states.

Why is the water cycle important to the Earth?

The water cycle is important to the earth because it keeps animals and pepole alive because if we did not have water the plants would die and so would  us and the animals. but did you know that we drink the same water that dinosaurs. drink because water does not go anywhere. It can go in owshins and seas and creeks and lakes. It can go up into the clouds.

My Writing Sample Term 1 2021

At Waipapa Warehouse

On Sunday me my brother and my Grandmama went to Waipapa warehouse. First we went to the shop and got an 

ice cream. Me and my brother had chocolate ice cream and our Grandmama had lime ice cream. After that my Grandmama stopped at the toilet and asked us if we needed to go to the toilet and we said no and she said well i do. Next Grandmama came back into the car. Then we left the toilets and went to the warehouse and walked in the warehouse and went to pick a toy. I got a basketball and my brother wanted to copy me so he got a basketball and then we went to pay for them and our Grandmama bort us some lollies and bubble gum. Later on we left the warehouse And had some lunch. It was yummy.

Finally we went home and I was as happy as a clown.

Whaea Diane’s Visit.

Yesterday Whaea Diane came to talk to our class about Maths. First Whaea Diane showed us a 120s board. We used it to count in tens.  After that Whaea Diane chose two kids to choose a number. I chose a number. I went first and then Inaia went. Then it was play time and all of us said bye to Whaea Diane. Finally it was class time. I had an amazing day because I got to choose a number and write it on the whiteboard. I felt as happy as a clown.

 Going to Taipa beach

On Saturday afternoon me and my brother and my two uncles went diving in Taipa. First when we got to Taipa, my Uncle backed the truck into the water so we could put our boat in the water. We put the boat in the water and then my uncle parked the truck up. Next we all got out of the truck and hopped in the boat.

After that we went a bit far out to sea.

We saw a stingray and then watched it. Then it swam away. Then one of my uncles jumped in

to go diving. Then my other uncle jumped in with my other uncle. Then me and my brother had a ham and mayonnaise sandwich. After that me and my brother asked our uncles if we can jump in for a swim and they said no because it was too dangerous. So me and my brother played some hand games. Then our uncles got back in the boat. Then we got back to shore and we put the boat back on the truck. Next we went back home. I was as happy as a clown and I was so tired but my brother wasn´t.
